On July 28, 2015, Apple released Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan beta 5  (build number 15A235d, “pre-release”). I positively tested it with an Apple TV 3 running on Apple TV 7.2 software. Find more about Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan on Apple’s Website. This is most probably the reason for the need of re-installation. There seem to be no big changes to beta 3.

Deleting all caches on your iPhone or iPad will free up some amount of the ‘Other’ space. However, if you restore your iPhone from your iCloud or iTunes backup, you will gain much more free space again.
