Just arrived, I present the unboxing video of my new 12 inch MacBook (early 2016) in gold and with a 1.3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core M7 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3,1 GHz). The updated 12 inch MacBook was released on April 19, 2016, almost one year after the introduction of the new MacBook. The updated 12 inch MacBook product line got better processors with less battery consumption meaning up to 10 hours battery life and a faster PCIe-based flash storage.
Apple Watch activation on wrist raise is not working in the vertical turn, demonstrated with an Apple Watch Sport with 42 mm Space Gray Aluminium Case and Black Sport Band (product number MJ3T2LL). Apple is describing the activation on wrist raise with “From the moment you wake the display with a simple raise of the wrist, you’ll be comfortable using Apple Watch”. That’s not entirely true: The activation on wrist raise is solely working the horizontal turn. However, it completely fails in any other direction.
Learn how to take screenshots on an Apple Watch. There are two possible options: The first one is the official ‘how-to’ of Apple, for details see the corresponding support document. The second one is demonstrated in the following video podcast. In both cases, you have to be fast because you must press the two buttons immediately after each other. If not, another command on the Apple Watch will be activated…

Lightning video capturing and recording for iPhone’s and iPad’s screen is newly introduced with iOS 8 and Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite. Apple’s primary intention of lightning video capturing and recording seems to be the use for video app previews, as stated on a Apple developer support page. The iPhone or iPad is set up as a camera on Quicktime player.
AirParrot and Reflector App are versatile tools to use Apple’s AirPlay function to mirror screens. The well-known function of AirParrot for Mac or AirParrot for Windows mirrors the computer screen to Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation). Using Reflector for Mac or Reflector for Windows PC turns your computer into an AirPlay receiver and enables AirPlay screen mirroring from iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to computers.
Reflector 1.3.3 is running seamlessly on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. Reflector is an AirPlay receiver which connects iPods, iPads and iPhones to computers and projector. Reflector mirrors your device on a big screen without wires or complicated setups. There is both an Windows PC version and Mac OS X version available. After opening Reflector on your PC or Mac, you just need to start the AirPlaying mirroring on your iPhone or iPad. Squirrels, the makers of Reflector, released Reflector 1.3.3 update for PC in November 2013. Beside Reflector, Squirrels developed also AirParrot, an app to AirPlay a computer’s screen to Apple TV.
Some months ago I tested Airserver 1.1.2 on Windows 8 with less success. AirServer 1.1.2 has been running unsteadily on Windows 8 Pro with too many connection breakdowns. Now there are two new versions released: Airserver 1.1.8 and Airserver 1.9 beta. Here are my findings, tested with my iPhone 4S and iPad 4th generation: The stability is improved, but from time to time you got still some connection breakdowns again. However, the number in total is less. The transfer speed of AirPlay mirroring is still good. It seems to me that AirServer needs less memory and CPU power of my Windows 8 PC as AirServer version 1.1.2.
