The latest MetaWatch Manager 1.2.5 update fails to connect to the MetaWatch. Up to version 1.2.4 the MetaWatch Manager worked perfectly on the latest iOS 7 beta. This means the reason for that problem is located in the MetaWatch Manager. But I found a fix to restore MetaWatch Manager version 1.2.4. This fix works if there is version 1.2.4 somewhere left on your computer.
Some people face problems with setting up iCloud email (@me.com account) in the Windows 8 mail app and/or in Outlook 2013 on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. I’ve already reported how it works for the Windows mail app on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. But how does it work for Outlook 2013? Officially, iCloud control panels does only support iCloud email on Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 on a Windows computer. However, you can set up iCloud email on Outlook 2013 as well by setting the outgoing server (SMTP) on TLS!

Update: Setting Up iCloud Email on Windows 10 Mail App
Microsoft will release the update of Windows 8.1 on October, 19, 2013. I’ve already installed Windows 8.1 Preview on my Acer Aspire 1810T. More and more people have Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 installed and/or are using a Microsoft Surface RT or Microsoft Surface Pro. The Setting up of iCloud email in Windows 8.1 is similar to Windows 8, but also not that simple, especially, because certain support documents of Apple or Microsoft are not correct in all details. To choose the correct SSL-settings is very important to get iCloud email in the Windows 8.1 mail app running.
On Windows 7 (or earlier windows versions like windows Vista or Windows XP) it was easy to add auto-start items to the ‘Startup’ folder of the Start Menu: Once added, the dedicated programs was started automatically every time Windows was booted. On Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 there is no Start menu anymore, but the so-called ‘Start Screen’. Beside this, the ‘startup’ folder is not visible any more. However, there is a work-around to get programs automatically started on Window 8 or Windows 8.1. Find the Startup folder on your PC and paste the shortcut of the program you want to get auto-started. For easy access later on, you just need to pin the Startup folder to the Windows 8 Start screen.
As you may know, I really like PhotoSync App, especially, because of the high-speed photo file transfer and the excellent and free Windows PC (running on Windows 8) and Mac (running on OS X 10.8.3 Mountain Lion) companions. Today PhotoSync 2.0 for iPhone and iPad (universal app) was released. I intensively tested the new version: It’s a big step ahead!
Update: PlexConnect Running On Apple TV 6.0 Update
Update: PlexConnect Still Works On Apple TV Software 6.0 Beta (5.4 Seed 3, iOS 7) After Update
I’ve already posted about the major update to Apple TV Software 6.0 beta. Beside the new features, I was keen on knowing if PlexConnect will still run on Apple TV software 6.0 beta. PlexConnect, a brilliant solution to get Plex running on an Apple TV 2 or 3 without jailbreaking the device, works on Version 5.3 and 5.4 beta. I tested both the Mac OS X and the Windows version for another time on my Acer Aspire 1810T running on Windows 8 Pro and my MacBook Pro running on OS X 10.8.4 with my Apple TV 3: PlexConnect still works perfectly on Apple TV software 6.0 beta (5.4 beta seed 3).
On July 29, 2013, Apple released, together with iOS 7 beta 4, the new Apple TV Software beta 3. In the release notes it is named 5.4 Beta Seed 3, but after updating my Apple TV 3 I found in the section ‘About’ documented that it is in real Apple TV Software 6.0 (6646.16.1). It seems, that together with iOS 7, the Apple TV will get to a major update to version 6.0 (The predecessor beta was named 5.4 on the Apple TV).
