iTunes 11 Running on Windows 8.1 Preview

As already mentioned, there is no dedicated iTunes app for Windows 8. This means no iTunes app for Windows RT, too. Further more, Windows CFO Tami Reller told CNN: “You shouldn’t expect an iTunes app on Windows 8 any time soon.”.

However, iTunes 11 works in desktop mode on Windows 8, if Windows 8 Media Center is installed, too. I just installed Windows 8.1 Preview on my Acer Aspire 1810T. The first app I tested was iTunes and I can state that iTunes 11 (Version 11.0.4.4) is still working on Windows 8.1 preview!

I tested the following:

• Playing music
• Switching on iTunes Match
• Downloading apps via iTunes Store
• Syncing my iPhone and iPad running on iOS 7 beta (3)

Everything is working perfectly and it seems to me that iTunes is running more fluently on Windows 8.1 Preview than on Windows 8. However, right now, this is only my personal impression….
