Here’s how to install a certificate on Apple TV without USB cable (micro USB cable) to get PlexConnect on your Apple TV. Installing a certificate on your Apple TV is essential to get PlexConnect running because of the silent Apple TV Software update from August 27, 2013. Up to now, it was necessary to connect your Apple TV to your computer (Mac and Windows PC) via a micro USB cable. Some people including me noticed that not every micro USB cable is working to get the Apple TV recognized in the iPhone configuration utility.
Since I have got my MacBook Pro 13” (Mid 2012) I’m using CleanMyMac to keep my Mac tidied up. CleanMyMac works seamlessly, remembering me to clean my MacBook at the right moment, meaning only at that time it is really necessary. CleanMyMac is already compatible to Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks, too.
Last week Apple released 2 updates: Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks and the small update for Apple TV 6.0.1. PlexConnect is still running on Apple TV 6.0.1 (2nd and 3rd generation) as reported in the plex forum. The same is reported there for Mac OX X 10.9 Mavericks. I checked it on my own and I can confirm it for my Acer Aspire 1810T running on Windows 8.1 Pro and my MacBook Pro 13” (Mid 2012) running on Mavericks. However, I had to re-install both the Windows and the Mac OS X certificate on my Apple TV 3.

Some weeks ago I reported about my findings on running Reflector app on Windows 8 Pro. Reflector app doesn’t run perfectly on Windows 8. So do other AirPlay mirroring apps like AirParrot and AirServer.
Since last Friday I’m a happy and pride owner of a MacBook Pro 13″ (Mid 2012) with a Intel Core Duo i5 2,5GHz processor running on OS X 10.8.2 Mountain Lion. 🙂
