I personally used FingerPrint up to the date I purchased a HP Photosmart 7510 with integrated AirPrint function. The reason for doing this was not to find in FingerPrint but in the anoying low speed of my Acer Aspire 1810T running with Windows 7. Beside this, the computer must be permanently switched on because the printing jobs run over the PC. But it is a cheap alternative to AirPrint capable printers for iPhone or iPad users ($19,95 per license).
Now COLLOBOS Software released FingerPrint 2.2. The update is free and features:
- Custom Folders, other utilities, etc.
- Increased Printer Compatibility
- Access Control Lists (security)
- Compatibility with large printer banks (25+ printers)
- Bi-Directional ability to send print jobs via the application (if logged in) or service (if not logged in) improving functionality.
I just installed it on my Acer Aspire 1810T running on Windows 8 without any issues. I copied my FingerPrint 2.1 license key and it works perfectly! You are able to print to PDFCreator as well.
Stay tuned! 😉

EVERYONE THAT ALREADY PURCHASED (Version under 2.0) AND NOW HAS TO PAY FOR AN UPGRADE.
Though they offer 60% discount this means? every time your apple device gets updated to a new ISO you will have to pay for an upgrade again for this software.
Do your self a favour and just go out and buy a airprint scanner / printer. I bought myn at Walmart for aprox $35. HP Deskjet 3052A
New rummer..
The next ISO is going to modify airplay again so get your wallets out to pay for another FingerPrint upgrade.
Hi Rabbitroger2,
I think that there could be a little misunderstanding: So far I know you do not have to pay for every new iOS version. Collobos made an update from Fingerprint version 1 to version 2. And as a company they want to earn money. That’s OK. I work for money, too. And I assume that you work to get money, too. And you do not have to upgrade, if you do not like to spend money. The version 1 still works.
Last, but not least, let us take the other way round: Should a company, which develops an app, only earn money for a single time? How should such a company survive? Spending money and menpower for updating the app for nothing? That’s impossible!
Cheers,
Gee Are
