If ‘Device not found’ appears in the Airport Utility app on your Mac, it means that your AirPort Extreme, AirPort Express or Time Capsule is not showing up in the AirPort Utility app and hence, not accessible. Nevertheless, your AirPort or Time Capsule device is still working and reachable via Finder app. The Fix ‘Device not found’ in AirPort Utility for AirPort Extreme, AirPort Express and Time Capsule is done by unplugging the AirPort device and then deleting Apple ID in Back to my Mac.
Deleted Time Machine Backups in the trash cannot be emptied because of System Integrity Protection (SIP), introduced in Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan. If a Time Machine backup fails or gets interrupted then incomplete backups can result. The Time Machine will be unable to successfully complete a backup until this corrupted file is deleted. However, if you try to empty the trash, such backup files get stuck on ‘Preparing to empty the Trash…’. Deactivating System Integrity Protection enables emptying the trash in macOS 10.13 High Sierra, macOS 10.12 Sierra and Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan.
macOS Photos app cannot import selected folders of images to albums sustaining the original album’s name. macOS Photos app is only capable to make bulk import of images. Further more, macOS Photos app can even not import nested folders and convert them to nested albums in the Photos app. However, nested folders images are easily imported to nested albums in the Photos app using an app based on an applescript conserving the folders’ original names and nested structure. The app is working on macOS High Sierra 10.13, macOS Sierra 10.12, Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11 and Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.

Typically, folders and files are displayed in macOS finder app in regular black font and can be accessed. In some cases, the folders and files are grayed out in macOS finder meaning you cannot move or delete files and folders and you cannot access them. Grayed out folders and files are often generated if copying files from one location to another, especially copying them from or to network drives. Grayed out folders and files show the ’24 January 1984′ error, meaning they are all dated with 01/24/1984.
SMB Windows file sharing not working on Mac after upgrading to macOS 10.13 High Sierra or macOS 10.12 Sierra or setting up a new Mac or MacBook via iCloud is easily fixed. For SMB windows file sharing, you need to select a user for activation. Sometimes, you cannot select the user because the user is grayed out. The real cause of this problem is that you most probably use the same password for accessing your Mac and as your iCloud password. Due to security reasons, you cannot use the same password for both your Mac and iCloud anymore. This fix also applies to Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan.
