On August 19, 2015, Apple released Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan beta 7  (build number 15A263e, “pre-release”). I positively tested it with an Apple TV 3 running on Apple TV 7.2 software. Find more about Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan on Apple’s Website. In contrast to beta 2, beta 3 and beta 4 and similar to beta 5 and beta 6, I had not to re-install OpenPlex. There seem to be no big changes to beta 6.

Just use the following work around to get your Huawei E3276s-150 / Telekom Speedstick LTE III running on Yosemite. If you also have a Windows 8 / 8.1 or Windows 10, you just follow the Windows 8 / 8.1 instructions for Huawei K3765. So far, Huawei E3276 is not working on Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan. Installation Huawei E3276 on macOs 10.12 Sierra works in the similar way as for Huawei E3372.

In contrast to beta 2, beta 3 and beta 4, I had not to re-install OpenPlex. There seem to be no big changes to beta 5.

However, I had to re-install OpenPlex like I had to do in beta 2 and beta 3. In the installation note of beta 4 is stated that “After upgrading to OS X El Capitan Developer Beta, applications that write to protected/system locations may no longer function correctly.“. This is most probably the reason for the need of re-installation. There seem to be no big changes to beta 3.

Just use the following work around to get your Huawei / Vodafone K3765-HV running on El Capitan. This tweak also applies to Huawei E3276, Huawei E3372 and any other Huawei mobile broadband modem. If you also have a Windows 8 / 8.1 or Windows 10, you just follow the Windows 8 / 8.1 instructions. I have already posted instruction for installing K3765 on Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks and Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite. Installation Vodafone K3765-HV on macOs 10.12 Sierra works in the similar way as for Huawei E3372.

Fixing El Capitan Gmail bug in Mac OS X 10.11 mail app

OS X 10.11_El Capitan icon 256x256Learn how to fix Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan and macOS 10.12 Sierra Gmail bug in mail app. If you have sync problems with Gmail on the native mail app in OS X 10.11 El Capitan or and macOS 10.12 Sierra, de-activating and re-activating ‘Show in IMAP’ for ‘All Mail’ should fix the El Capitan Gmail bug and Sierra Gmail bug. Since the launch of Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks both Google’s Gmail and exchange accounts are not working correctly in the native mail app client in OS X 10.9 Mavericks and OS X 10.10 Yosemite. You can fix the El Capitan Gmail bug for Google’s Gmail IMAP accounts following this work around. It is the same as for OS X 10.9 Mavericks, OS X 10.10 Yosemite and and macOS 10.12 Sierra.

Recover lost admin rights on OS X 10.10 and 10.11_allow user administer this computer

OS X 10.11_El Capitan icon 256x256If you lost your administrator rights on Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite, Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan, macOS 10.12 Sierra or macOS 10.13 High Sierra, you can recover the admin privileges easily by rebooting into Apple’s Setup Assistant tool. This will run before any accounts have been loaded, and will run in “root” mode, allowing you to create accounts on your Mac. Then, you can recover your admin rights via the new administrator account. After that, you can reboot into your recovered admin account and delete the interim administrator account.
