Install the latest Flash player, test if iTunes is running now. If not, install the latest Java. If iTunes is still not running, try the next fix:
Fix 2:
The most successful fix is to copy the file ‘QTMovieWin.dll‘ from
c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support\ to
c:\program files (x86)\iTunes.
Now iTunes should work correctly without any crashes. If iTunes is still not working, try to ‘cut & paste’ the file instead of copying it (Kudos to miApple.me’s commentator ‘Rex’).
Fix 3:
In many cases it seems that there is a problem with the Intel HD graphics 4000 driver. Download and install either the latest Intel HD graphics 4000 driver for your computer from the Intel support homepage, or, in most cases even better, from the computer manufacturer’s support page. If iTunes crashes still persist, you should try the other way round and downgrade the graphics driver to an older version of the Intel HD 4000 graphics driver. If you are not very experienced in up- and downgrading drivers, try Fix 4 first!
Fix 4:
l9ChevyDriven85 reported that there is a solution without downgrading the Intel HD 4000 graphics driver (maybe it will work for other drivers, too):
Click on the Windows Button, go to the ‘Control Panel‘ and open ‘System‘.
Click on ‘Advanced system settings‘ and the ‘System Properties‘ window opens.
Click on the ‘Advanced‘ tab and hit the ‘Environment Variables’ button.
Find and highlight the ‘Path‘ variable in the ‘Systems Variables‘ section and click on ‘Edit‘. The ‘Edit System Variable‘ window opens.
Finally, place your mouse cursor at the very end of the ‘Variable Value‘ and paste exactly the following value to the end: ‘;C:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support\. The semicolon ‘;‘ is essential!
If you, at least, followed one of the above mentioned fixes, iTunes 11 crashing and freezing should be resolved. If you succeeded, let us know and comment! If not, describe me your problem in the comment section and I will try my very best to help you to fix it!

well fix #3 was the only one that worked for me but only for a hour or so, things went south again, I’ve tried all the other fix’s nothing works, any other ideas?
that’s curious! Did you make an upgrade or downgrade of the driver? If you made an downgrade, you maybe got an automated driver update? Could you check it?
I’m [attempting] to set up a new laptop. Either one of two things happen. I have tried all four of the fixes above. I have also tried the uninstall/reinstall route.
1. iTunes opens to a white [blank] screen. Less frequent occurrence after fix#2
2. iTunes opens. I can use anything from the File/Edit/View bar, including open preferences. However, the bulk of the screen [sidebar, main area] stays frozen on one random shot from startup [i.e. a playlist, list of audiobooks]. I can’t play anything, click on anything in the sidebar, or change what is displayed.
maybe the antivirus program causes this problem. What system is running on your new laptop (windows 8.1?)?
Disconnect your laptop from the internet, deactivate your antivirus program, delete all iTunes installations following this post and reinstall iTunes 11.2:
Fixing iTunes 11.1.4 Installation Crashes On Windows Vista, XP, 7, 8 And 8.1
After that re-activate your antivirus program and re-connect to the internet.
I installed the latest Itune (11.1.5.5×64) on my Windows 8.1. When I click on burning a playlist to CD, a message appears “Itune has stopped working…”, and I have to close the program. I re-installed Itune a few times but the problem remains. What’s the solution? Thanks.
I tried everything whats over here. non of them working for me. I open itunes, I can play my music, and watch videos, but when I want to open itunes store, or connect my ipad to ituns its crushing straight away… Im tired of searching for solutions. I have windows 8.
I have the latest version of ITunes and Windows 8.1. ITunes does not see my IPhone 5 when I connect with a USB cable. It does show (sometimes) a previous IPhone 4s that was synced last year on another computer that was running XP and a previous version of ITunes. I hope you can help. Thanks

Hi Sandra,
give iTunes a final try! Deinstall iTunes COMPLETELY following this post:
https://miapple.me/fix-itunes-11-1-4-windows-installations-apple-support-document-released/?relatedposts_exclude=3467
and re-install the latest iTunes update 11.1.4 following the steps to install iTunes, recommended in the same post.

Hi walkawayjoe,
I think you need to deinstall iTunes and related components completely and re-install it, following this instruction:

Worked. Thanks
I desperately tried all these solutions and none worked for me. I can’t even sign in to my apple id. Any other suggestions?
Hi Amir,
which iTunes version do you want to install on which Windows version?
Did you try to install iTunes 11.1.4? If so, check this post:
https://miapple.me/fix-itunes-11-1-4-windows-installations-apple-support-document-released/
You need to uninstall all iTunes related software from your Windows PC.
Cheers,
Gee Are
